Ex-TNT Singer TONY HARNELL Releases Solo Demos
September 9, 2008Former TNT and current STARBREAKER vocalist Tony Harnell is making high-quality demo versions of six solo tracks available for purchase via his official web site. Entitled "Cinematic" and recorded in Sweden for his upcoming solo album between 2006 and 2007, three of the songs on the CD were previously featured on MySpace, including the fan favorite "The Show". According to a posting on the site, "not all of the great songs featured here will end up on the finished album so this is your chance to own something very special and be a part of the creative process. Tony will sign the first 1,000 copies so hurry and get yours now before they're sold out!"
In other news, Harnell has been forced to cancel his appearance at the Firefest (set to take place October 25-26 at Rock City in Nottingham, UK) due to "a very serious illness" in his immediate family. He says, "I really was looking forward to this show and did everything in my power to make it happen but in the end I realized that I really have no choice but to stay in the U.S. right now. We're staying positive about this and hope it will all come out alright, but for now my presence is needed by someone very dear to me. I'm sorry about any of you that already arranged to travel to Nottingham to see me and intend to make it up to you in the near future."
Harnell's final release as a member of TNT was the "Live in Madrid" DVD, which came out in September 2006 via MTM Music. The set, which was filmed on April 1, 2006 in Madrid, Spain, was accompanied by an 82-minute audio CD plus booklet liner notes from Harnell about his work with the group as well as an additional tour documentary by Darren Paltrowitz.
STARBREAKER — the band featuring Harnell, Magnus Karlsson (ALLEN LANDE, PRIMAL FEAR) and John Macaluso (YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, TNT, ARK) — released its sophomore album, "Love's Dying Wish", in Europe on August 1 via Frontiers Records. The follow-up to the group's 2005 self-titled debut was written and produced by Harnell and Karlsson and was mixed by respected producer Tommy Hansen (TNT, JORN).
